As you can gues, takes ages before they come take them Then we wanted the desert because we still were hungry Aftet again a wait that takes too long we got served and asked the bill immidiatly when we got served, luckily ; So Not worth a visit We were all still hungry when we got out Its sad Because the people seem nice F More. We had dinner at this restaurant last night and it was very good. We took a full menu, miso soup amazing, best one Had ever , salad dressing was to die for , main dish was very varied, and the dessert was - heaven!!!
FYI the restaurant If your up to nice cosy dinner this is to place to go. Followed the posted hours and specifically waited until h when they were supposed to be open to have dinner. When we got there at h it was closed. Sign in the window had the hours and it should have been open yet it was locked No way to run a business. We were the only table with two people and waited a long time to even see the owner.
She then explained the only items on the card and said that she was busy cooking for an event. It was the same dishes as described by No extra wishes. Thank god we skipped the soup, according to what I read here. The service was poor and the food was way to expensive and not worth the wait. As two vegans visiting Luxembourg for the first time we did our homework. We found this place and promptly booked a table. We turned up early and met two other diners at the front door.
It took three rings of the bell to get Anna Once in we found a small dining area that was quirky but looked like it needed a few repairs. We weren't put off though. Anna explained dinner and that there was only one choice of all the courses - miso soup, cous cous and a bean mixture and a dessert. She also explained she served a green and beetroot salad between the soup and main course. After reading other reviews it seems this meal is the standard one offered.
The soup and salad arrived fairly quickly but waiting for the main was a long, long affair. We arrived at 7. I wouldn't mind but the only hot thing in the main dish was the cooked leeks! Not quite sure how it took so long to prepare?? The main meal was delicious but the rest I was not impressed with. Even though it tasted good, it wasn't worth the 21euro we paid each for it. Especially given the over the top length of time taken to serve it. The whole affair was disappointing given that this is really the only vegan restaurant in town.
Such a shame. It'll be remembered but for all the wrong reasons! Did I mention the smallest loo in the world? I love to discover new things, so as a meat eater I agreed on trying some vegan food for a change. The "restaurant" was quite small but very nicely decorated and painted. The owner, which was also cook and waiter was very friendly which made The food and service were unfortunately no so compelling. Here's why: - Didn't bother to ask for drinks for about 15 min.
I went there because Luxembourg city is not so full of vegetarian restaurants. In few words, it was quite disappointing. Let's start with the good things: the place was nice, the food was good not excellent, but good anyway.
The fact is that in all What is always and not often the same is the high price if compared to what you eat and where. To eat this i waited almost 3hrs! And i repeat, we were 6 people in the whole restaurant! I went away very disappointed, this place is in the lonely planet guide and for this reason i did not care too much about reviews in TA. A great mistake. I would have never eaten in a restaurant like this if i read TA, and how silly that among these reviews there is a clear advertisement about the restaurant, most probably written by the owner.
She can't even understand how useless is a thing like this for her restaurant? I'm surprised she even did not get easy that pretending to be an enthusiastic costumer was more useful! I will never get there in my life, and i will write lonely planet to give advices about seriously considering if it's so necessary to have this restaurant in their guide.
Ana receives you in her home and cooks for you in her kitchen. The starter, the meal and the dessert were simple but excellent and largely sufficient. We had the possibility to talk with Ana about her view of healthy and vegan kitchen and got to know more about her interesting way of life.
A visit to Anabanana has to be seen as a tasty experience, yes an expensive one, but one we we will certainly repeat. This was the one place on my list of restaurants to visit in Luxembourg but I was pretty disappointed. Firstly, make sure you check when the restaurant is open as it doesn't seem to open for many hours during the week. I turned up at There is no menu available and just whatever the dish of that particular day is. There is just the one lady who is preparing and cooking the food as well as waiting the tables so expect an evening of chaos if you visit.
I was in the restaurant for two and a half hours from start to finish starters through to main course, no dessert , all because of how utterly slow the service is. It shouldn't take forty minutes between a simple miso soup and a green salad being served.
I imagine we'd have hit the 3 hour mark if I had ordered the dessert of the day too. The main course that was cous cous and bean ragu with sweet potato tempura was well cooked and well presented but ultimately, didn't leave me feeling satiated which was a shame.
